Be sure any after-market locking cap you get follows the pressurization/venting scheme for your particular model or pumping system. In addition, be sure your fuel filler door properly closes over any locking device you buy. According to law enforcement, a locking gas cap will limit the distance a stolen vehicle can be driven and may just help in getting your vehicle back if abandoned at a public place due to running out of gas.
